Where Each Team Stands Heading Into Week 12

Another crazy week of NFL action is in the books – the best in the AFC and the NFC are really starting to separate themselves! The Pats and the Cards keep clicking along and each made huge statements this past week.

So did the Packers who look like legitimate contenders to win it all this year. What happened to the Broncos?

So what does it all mean? Let’s break it down in the Week 11 edition of the NFL Power Rankings.

1. Patriots (8-2) Last Week: 1

Not much doubt here. The Pats went on the road and destroyed the Colts in Week 11 – their six straight win – all in convincing fashion. With a healthy running game, Rob Gronkowski looking dominant and Tom Brady doing his thing the Pats look like they can exploit every weakness a team has – scary as they come! Will they score less than 40 again this year?

2. Cardinals (9-1) Last Week: 2

The Cardinals are on a six game win streak and still own the league’s best record. On Sunday they dispatched the scorching Lions with a combination of stifling defense and opportunistic offense. They’ve beat the San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys and the San Diego Chargers – impressive indeed! Bruce Arians has something special in the desert – that’s for sure.

3. Packers (7-3) Last Week: 4

The Packers have scored 50 point in back-to-back weeks – the offense looks absolutely unstoppable. Green Bay’s D has forced six fumbles and four interceptions in the last two games to boot. Green Bay is suddenly looking like the team to beat in the NFC and they will get better as the weather gets colder.

4. Broncos (7-2) Last Week: 3

Mama said there’d be days like this. Nothing went right for Denver against a tough Rams team. Nobody, absolutely nobody saw the Broncos loss coming! Julius Thomas sprained his ankle; Emmanuel Sanders may miss some time with a concussion. Denver suddenly looks vulnerable – don’t they?

5. Chiefs (7-3) Last Week: 10

The Chiefs have now won seven of their last eight games and made the defending champs look ordinary on Sunday. Jamaal Charles is absolutely dominant right now and KC’s defense is no joke. The Chiefs are a scary looking team and could give Denver a serious run in their division.

6. Lions (7-3) Last Week: 5

The Lions drop one spot after struggling to get anything done offensively against Arizona – no shame in that! The good news is that their defense was once again stellar and they still hold the second seed in the East. Detroit has the Packers breathing down their necks and has the unenviable task of facing New England in Week 12.

7. Cowboys (7-3) Last Week: 9

The Cowboys rise two spots despite not even playing this week. Tony Romo should be healthy after their bye – the Cowboys are in the driver’s seast as we head into the stretch drive!

8. Colts (6-4) Last Week: 7

The Colts got exposed a tad against the Patriots on Sunday – they don’t look like they are on the same level. Ahmad Bradshaw broke his ankle in Week 11 too. Indianapolis could have a hard time going forward – they are too one-dimensional and too weak on defense.

9. Eagles (7-3) Last Week: 6

Could the Mark Sanchez honeymoon be over? The Eagles go destroyed by Green Bay on Sunday – but everyone lately has suffered the same fate. Still, Philadelphia is still struggling to run the ball and the defense is still a bit of a mystery. The Eagles are definitely top 10 but have some work to stay there!

10. Bengals (6-3-1) Last Week: 17

Tough to figure this team out isn’t it? They put a beating on the Saints in Week 11 in New Orleans – no easy task. The running game rediscovered its touch and Andy Dalton shook his slump – a good sign for this team going forward. With a balanced offense and a defense that finally showed up the Bengals move back into the top 10.

11. Seahawks (6-4) Last Week: 8

The Seahawks may miss the playoffs! Seriously this team looks to be in some trouble. The Seahawks will always have trouble with god running teams that can chew up some clock – there are a few such teams on the schedule down the stretch. Seattle is simply out of sync – not sure about them the rest of the way.

12. Ravens (6-4) Last Week: 12

The Ravens stay at 12 this week because of their bye. They play the Saints in New Orleans this week – the same team that division rival Cincinnati just beat. We will get a good sense of just where Baltimore stands after next Monday night!
