The Hawks will be out to prove they are better than the team that showed up on Monday Night Football and unfortunately for Tampa, they are in the crosshairs of a team looking to send a statement that they are in fact the elite of the NFC.

First off, the Bucs are a better team than their 0-7 record suggests. Defensively, the Buccaneers are middle of the pack ranking 18th in the league in points allowed per game while also ranking 14th in the league in total yards allowed per game. They possess more than their share first round picks on D but have fallen victim to the side-show that is the 2013 Buccaneers and a lack of discipline all season long.

Darrelle Revis still exists which gives this defense credibility all by himself.

Offensively Mike Glennon has been OK – 997 yards and eight touchdowns on the year. He has Vincent Jackson enjoying a good year – 41 catches for 623 yards and four scores and the size to make it difficult on opposing defenses. That said the Bucs still own the second worst scoring offense in the game – their 14.3 points and 297.7 yards ranks only ahead of Jacksonville – ungood!

The issue has been injuries. Mike Williams is gone for the year, guard Carl Nicks is out for the season and Doug Martin will miss another game due to injury. A lack of weapons will certainly hinder the Bucs Sunday against a terrific Seattle defense – it may just ensure the Bucs a first overall pick in the 2014 draft! [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Seattle was bad last week. They gained 135 yards on offense in their 14-9 win and had only seven first downs all game long. Outside of one long passing play, Russell Wilson was left running for his life – he was sacked seven – count ‘em seven times! Marshawn Lynch gained an inexplicably low 23 yards on eight carries – something that will likely never happen again.

Seattle will be forced to play without Sidney Rice… again but the team may get Percy Harvin back from injury. It’s a good thing for Golden Tate who caught two TDs last week – he may be the only healthy body for Wilson to throw to!

Defensively, there is not much more to say about the Seahawks. They allow the second least yards per game in the NFL and own the third best defense in terms of points allowed.

They stop opposing offenses and generate more than their share of turnovers.

The defense has been the one constant for Seattle all year long – look out Tampa!

NFL Football Betting Prediction

A few trends to consider:

• Under is 8-3 in TB last 11 games overall.
• Under is 7-3 in TB last 10 vs. NFC.
• Over is 12-4 in SEA last 16 games in November.
• SEA are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games overall.
• SEA are 21-8 ATS in their last 29 vs. NFC.
• Under is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings.
• Road team is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 meetings.

16 points may look like a lot to swallow especially after Seattle’s performance last week.

But a look back at their effort on home turf against the other winless team Jacksonville shows that this team won’t allow for a letdown. Seattle’s spread record as big chalk at home – 10-3-1 ATS in 14 games and the Hawks have covered 19 of their last 25 when laying points at home.

The 12th man will be a factor as always as the Hawks put a beating on an already hurting team. This looks like a 31-6 game to me!

Pick: Seattle Seahawks -16
