2015 Indianapolis Colts Season Predictions

The defending AFC South Champions look to have another solid season behind QB Andrew Luck. The Colts were stopped in the AFC Title Game in 2014 when they ran into the eventual Super Bowl Champions the New England Patriots.

Still, this team has some of the best talent to offer and comes in as the heavy favorites to win the division once again. Can Luck and company take the next step and find themselves in the Super Bowl this season?

The Colts have been recognized as one of the elite teams in the NFL now. Favorites to win the AFC this season, the 3rd favorites to win the Super Bowl have such a dominant offense, combined with one of the best coaching staffs in the league.

Luck threw for 4761 yards and 40 touchdowns in the 2014 season. He also showed his running skills as he ran for 273 yards and 3 touchdowns. Luck will enter the 2015 season as a frontrunner for the MVP award.

Around him, the Colts have built an even better cast of players. At running back, the Colts went out and got Frank Gore. Even though Gore is 32 years old, he’s still a very dangerous asset for an offense and brings in a solid veteran leadership that will go a long way. In 2014 Gore rushed for 1106 yards and 4 touchdowns.

That is a major upgrade from the dilemma  the Colts had with Trent Richardson last season.

As far as their receiving core goes, it has improved from last season giving Luck more weapons to find. The Colts got Andre Johnson to replace Reggie Wayne, which is a major upgrade. Johnson has proven himself to be one of the best receivers in the game.

They’ll also have the explosive T.Y. Hilton back who has made a name for himself as Luck and him have built a solid chemistry. The Colts also drafted Phillip Dorsett that will offer a solid variety of speed and big play ability to solidify the receiving corp.

Defensive wise has to be the biggest question mark for the Colts. They were very sketchy to begin with last season and were exposed from time to time, especially in the AFC Title Game. The Colts used this past draft to really work on gathering some depth and playmakers on the defense end.

If the Colts can buckle down on this side of the ball in 2015, they have a solid chance to really do some damage.

2015 Indianapolis Colts Season Prediction:

The Colts should have no problem winning the AFC South once again. They are clearly 1 or even 2 steps above the rest of the teams in the division.

They got their feet wet in the AFC Title Game which will give them some solid experience, but building off of that is the major goal.

There is no doubt the offense is fine and one of the best in the league, but how the defense reacts and plays is the major deciding factor for Indianapolis. The Colts never really had a medium in terms of the “bend, but not break” theory. They broke, a lot, in 2014.

AFC South Title and a repeat appearance in the AFC Championship isn’t out of the question whatsoever for this team.
