Dave B’s NFL Power Rankings – Week 9

NFL Power Rankings – Where Every Team Sits After Week 8

Another week and another slate of storylines for football fans to chew on before it all starts again on Thursday night. There was a bit of movement in the top 5 this week mostly because of the dud-win that Seattle delivered on Monday night but strangely the Rankings remain eerily similar to last week.

Let`s take a look at where every teams stands in this week`s edition of Dave B`s Power Rankings

1. CHIEFS (Last Week: 1)

Cleveland stayed close but there is no denying the only undefeated team the #1 spot overall. They may not be the sexiest top dog but they have been getting it done. We’ll see if they maintain their standing after Week 10 when they face Denver.

2. COLTS (Last Week: 3)

Have won three of four and four of five games and their start running back hasn’t even shown his best.

After the bye, expect this team to keep rolling – confidence and belief is a funny thing! They beat Seattle, the Niners and Denver this year already – impressive!

3. BRONCOS (Last Week: 4)

Rebounded in championship form to win last week. The defense scares me though – enough to keep them behind the Colts. Peyton Manning’s gibbled ankles are another reason for concern.

4. SEAHAWKS (Last Week: 2)

Put up a clunker in St. Louis on Monday night but still won the game. It is proof that good teams simply find a way to win. They slip in the Rankings because of their weak effort Monday but they still rank among the elite in the NFL heading into Week 9.

5. SAINTS (Last Week: 5)

Drew Brees tossed 5 TDs on Sunday – you always have a chance when Brees is your man! They have a ton of weapons on offense and the defense is still more than holding its own.

6. 49ERS (Last Week’s Ranking: 6)

The Niners are knocking on the door of returning to the elite top 5 in the Rankings. They have five straight wins by an average of 22 points and are only getting healthier as the season rolls on. When this team is at full force, Seattle will certainly have their hands full!

7. BENGALS (Last Week: 7)

Andy Dalton – a difference maker? Hard to believe but it is true. He has been terrific of late and is taking this team on his back – 5 TD passes on Sunday (4 to Marvin Jones) in a 40 point win over the Jets. Cincinnati now has a two game lead in the NFC North.

8. PACKERS (Last Week: 8)

Injuries don’t seem to matter to this team – they are still one of the best! They have scored 75 points in the last two weeks without some offensive studs and now have a slight easing in the schedule. As this team gets healthier expect them to climb in the Rankings.

9. PATRIOTS (Last Week: 9)

It is pretty hard to get a read on this team – isn’t it? No Wilfork, no Mayo and no Talib on defense and with issues on the O-line it is hard to imagine this team playing in February. Pretty hard to doubt Tom Brady although it’s getting easier. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

10. LIONS (Last Week: 10)

Insane game Sunday! Matthew Stafford has officially emerged as one of the best leaders in the game and with Megatron catching the ball, this offense is virtually unstoppable. Oh ya – and then there’s Reggie Bush!

11. COWBOYS (Last Week: 11)

Ugh – this may be a bit high but I like what this team did against the Lions – maybe unlucky to have lost. Their offense is clicking but the defense? Ugly!

12. CHARGERS (Last Week: 12)

Philip Rivers continues his resurrection and the Ryan Matthews/Danny Woodhead combination continues to look solid. San Diego finds itself in the most difficult division in football but in Dave B’s Dirty Dozen this week. They were on the bye last week and keep their spot.

13. BEARS (Last Week: 13)
14. PANTHERS (Last Week: 17)
15. RAVENS (Last Week: 14)
16. JETS (Last Week: 15)
17. TITANS (Last Week: 18)
18. DOLPHINS (Last Week: 16)
19. CARDINALS (Last Week: 22)
20. RAIDERS (Last Week 23)
21. BILLS (Last Week: 21)
22. EAGLES (Last Week: 19)
23. STEELERS (Last Week: 24)
24. GIANTS (Last Week 29)
25. REDSKINS (Last Week: 25)
26. FALCONS (Last Week: 20)
27. RAMS (Last Week: 27)
28. TEXANS (Last Week: 28)
29. BROWNS (Last Week: 26)
30. VIKINGS (Last Week: 30)
31. BUCCANEERS (Last Week: 31)
32. JAGUARS (Last Week: 32)
