The Oklahoma State Cowboys go at it against the #1 ranked Texas Longhorns this week in a Saturday Football matchup. We preview and pick this week 9 clash.

NCAA Football Betting – Oklahoma State Cowboys at Texas Longhorns

Two undefeateds in the Big 12 Conference get together in one of the nation’s marquee matchups on Saturday, as the Oklahoma State Cowboys (7-0 SU, 6-0 ATS) tangle with the top-ranked Texas Longhorns (7-0 SU & ATS) in an NCAA football showdown that is scheduled to take place at 3:30 PM ET at Memorial Stadium (natural turf) in Austin, TX.

Saturday, October 25
BetUS NCAA Football Betting Odds: TEXAS -12, Total 70.5

Here are some of the NCAA college football betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* OSU has covered five of its last six road games
* OSU has won four of its last five road games SU
* OSU has played five of its last six road games UNDER the total
* TEX has won and covered its last five games
* TEX has won and covered its last five home games

Also…

* TEX has won the last ten meetings SU
* TEX has covered seven of the last nine meetings
* Four of the last five meetings have gone OVER the total
* TEX has covered four of the last six meetings as the home team
* TEX has won the last five meetings SU as the home team

Let me tell you what is amazing about this game: both of these teams are not only undefeated and very much in the national title hunt, they are both unbeaten against the spread. Of course, that is perhaps a little more believable about OSU, since most people did not expect such great things on their part. To give you an example, Athlon Sports’ college football annual had them ranked as the 32nd-best team in the nation. I wonder if even T. Boone Pickens, who pumped a lot of money into the athletic department of that university, expected this kind of national stage.

Then again, we don’t want to get carried away with the Cowboys just yet. There’s a long road to hoe. After this, Texas Tech and Oklahoma are still on the regular season schedule. And as we know, the Big 12 plays a title game. But in their biggest test to date, as a 14-point dog at Missouri, they pulled the 28-23 upset. Kendall Hunter ranks sixth nationally in rushing, and he had 154 yards in that Missouri game. And Zac Robinson, who’s completing passes at a 70% rate, is also throwing for distance (11.1 yards an attempt – second in the country).

Statistically speaking, Robinson is still behind Texas QB Colt McCoy, who is at a sizzling, scorching 81% with a 19-3 ratio of touchdowns to interceptions, and has to be considered for the Heisman right now – strongly. But I think there’s a little bit of a scheduling advantage for Oklahoma State here. They at least got a breather against Baylor last time out. Texas is coming off back-to-back games against Oklahoma and Missouri, and might be a bit more vulnerable to the pass than OSU,. We’re going to grab the points with the Cowboys, the 12-point favorite in the BetUS NCAA college football betting odds.
