Week 12: Buckeyes vs. Wolverines Preview/Pick

Oddsmakers currently have the Buckeyes listed as 11½-point favorites versus the Wolverines, while the game’s total is sitting at 48, here is a preview for the Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Michigan Wolverines plus a pick and lines betting angle…

Week 12 – OHIO STATE BUCKEYES (9-2) @ MICHIGAN WOLVERINES (5-6)

Date: Saturday, November 21 Noon EST
Site: Ann Arbor, MI
BetUS LINE: Ohio St -12

Preview:

Most intelligent fans of the Maize and Blue understand it’s a process with head coach Rich Rodriguez and his regime, but patience is beginning to wear thin in Ann Arbor. His Wolverines need a strong showing at home against the loathed Buckeyes to pacify their horde of fans. The problem is, the offense is mistake-prone, but it’s in excellent shape compared to the defense.

What new co-ordinator Greg Robinson has been trying to execute to this point simply hasn’t been working. Michigan has allowed at least 35 points every game in the past four weeks.

With the exception of Penn State and Wisconsin, the games were against middling Big Ten competition.

It should be fully expected that the home side will come out with spirit; but they’ll need everything to go their way in order to upset Ohio State, perennially the class of the conference.

Mr. Sweatervest (head coach Jim Tressel) and Co. will look to make it six straight victories against their rival. While there’s been much publicity about Tressel’s conservative style, OSU has the running game and the dynamic playmakers (read: QB Terrelle Pryor and WRs DeVier Posey and Dane Sanzenbacher) to put points on the board. The Buckeyes’ suffocating defense should take care of the rest.

I’d like to say there will be a bright spot at the end of a dismal 2009 season for the Wolverines, but I think I simply wouldn’t be telling the truth.
