Florida St. vs. Georgia Tech Betting Preview

NCAAF Week 10 Picks for the clash at Bobby Dodd Stadium between the Florida State Seminoles and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets…

NCAAF Week 10 Winning Wagers – Florida State Seminoles vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Another fantastic weekend of college football betting is upon us, and BetUS Sportsbook presents a potential preview of the ACC title game when the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (6-2, 5-1 ATS) welcome in the Florida State Seminoles (6-1, 3-2 ATS) to Bobby Dodd Stadium.

The Seminoles have never lost to the Ramblin’ Wreck since joining the ACC, but they’re just 1-4 ATS in their L/5 sports betting meetings. The last time these two teams met was back in 2003 at Doak Campbell Stadium. Georgia Tech looked primed for a massive upset as 23-point underdogs, but ended up losing 14-13. In three of their L/5 meetings, the Jackets were double-digit underdogs but only lost those three by an average of four points per game.

The Seminoles took advantage of the fact that Virginia Tech had to use three different quarterbacks to beat the Hokies 30-20, doing just enough to cover the 6.5-point spread. The defense was relentless for the ‘Noles allowing just 243 total yards. VTECH only went 1-of-11 on its 3rd down attempts.

Though none of the offensive numbers were sparkling on either side, the 50 combined points was enough to give ‘over’ bettors a third victory in FSU’s L/4 games. Those are surprising numbers for a defense that ranks third in the NCAA in yards allowed (246.3) and 19th in points allowed (16.6).

K Graham Gano might be the offensive star for the Noles even though he was originally recruited to be a punter at Florida State. He’ll likely be up for the Groza Award after he nailed a field goal from 50+ yards for the fourth straight game.

Georgia Tech was one of just four teams that entered last weekend undefeated against the spread, but like its two counterparts, couldn’t hold up its unblemished record for its football bettors. Virginia did more than just knock Georgia Tech from the ranks of the ATS unbeatens, they also took them out of the AP’s Top-25 and out of first place in the ACC Coastal Division.

The Cavs outscored the Jackets 21-3 in the final three quarters to win 24-17. QB Josh Nesbitt went 7/15 for 103 yards, but threw an interception and only ran for eight yards. The G-Tech offense, which averages 236.6 rushing yards per game was held to just 156 yards by HC Al Groh’s 3-4 defense. It could be another long day on the ground against a Florida State defense that is only allowing 78.7 rushing yards per game.

While Georgia Tech lost its ability to control their own destiny for the ACC crown, Florida State knows if they win out, they’ll be playing in the ACC title game come December. If Tech loses, they’ll probably be out of the running to represent the Coastal Division.

Oddsmakers have installed the visiting Seminoles as 1.5-point road favorites for this sports betting affair with a ‘total’ of 42, but the sports betting public bet heavily on GTECH to turn them into 2.5-point choices. All five of Georgia Tech’s ACC games have gone ‘under’ the ‘total’ this season, so consider banking on another low scoring game this weekend.
