UCLA is also coming off of two straight wins following two disappointing showings to the Oregon Ducks and Stanford Cardinal.

Washington

The Huskies, despite their struggles a few weeks ago, are coming off of a dominant performance against the Colorado Buffaloes. They took down their conference opponent 59-7, and they managed to record 628 yards of offense along the way.

When it comes down to it, this game against UCLA will be decided by turnovers. First and foremost, the Huskies must avoid turnovers of their own. Bruins fans are planning a blackout in the Rose Bowl come Friday, and while this won’t be the turning point of the contest, it does have the chance to rattle the Huskies’ offense from start to finish.

Just as importantly, UW must look to force turnovers. The No. 1 way to do this is put pressure on Brett Hundley. The UCLA quarterback has been fantastic all season, but in his two losses so far this year, it’s been pressure up front that has shaken him.

The Bruins are starting three true freshman on their offensive line in this game. The UW defense must take advantage of the youth, making plays in the UCLA backfield.

UCLA

Aside from protecting Brett Hundley, the Bruins must look to make tackles in space. The Huskies have athletes who can make plays in the open field, and much like the Oregon Ducks Washington will look to push the tempo, further exhausting the opposing defense.

Look for Anthony Barr to have a bounce-game against UW. He played a subpar contest last week against Arizona, and while the team ultimately came away with a win, a stronger showing from their star defender would have taken the pressure off of an offense that also didn’t look like itself at times.

Luckily for the Bruins, they are playing a Huskies team that has almost no experience on the road. UW is just 1-2 away from Husky Stadium this season, and home-field advantage is going to have an impact as soon as kickoff commences at 6:00 PM ET on national television.

In this matchup, the UCLA Bruins are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 contests. The Huskies are just 4-10 ATS in their last 14 road games; and the score has gone over the projected total in six out of UCLA’s last eight home games.

Expect a high-scoring battle between these two conference opponents, but don’t be surprised if UCLA comes away with a double-digit victory when it’s all said and done.

Prediction: UCLA 38 – Washington 27
