Now they have another tough trip to Provo against a familiar opponent in the BYU Cougars.
Utah State may have beaten them only once in the last 10 in the series but they have covered the last 4 against BYU and 7 of the last 10.

This is huge game as I am guessing that USU has never beaten Utah and BYU in the same season. When you have a big road game you need your QB to show up.
That means Chuckie Keeton for the Aggies. Against Utah and Wisconsin he threw 4 TDs with no interceptions. That and making some yards with his feet is the kind of performance they need.
This Aggies team is pretty good so they may have to avoid trying to do too much.
The Aggies have been a great spread play this season and a great spread play against the Cougars historically.
I like their athleticism to be a big advantage and think that the 7 points you can grab here are great value. Because of the timing I am not sure how much this one will move.
Maybe make a small play now and keep monitoring it.
BYU
The Cougars are a perfect 3-0 at home after laying the smack down on Hawaii last week. Their only losses were on the road to Boise State and the same Utah team USU beat in overtime at home. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Both were close but there are still some question marks about this team, especially at quarterback where starter Riley Nelson is iffy to return.
Based on last week’s performance that might not be such a bad thing.
If you like running QB (and I do) it is hard not to like Taysom Hill. He ran for more than 100 yards in the first half last week and looks like a superior athlete to me.
He is not as smooth when it comes to the passing game but he has gotten by so far.
Last week BYU rushed for nearly 400 yards in a departure from their historical style.
Against Wisconsin USU gave up just 150 yards on the ground – it was an impressive defensive effort.
BYU has an emerging QB controversy on their hands.
It might be shifted back a week or so due to Nelson not being ready but it will be interesting to see how Hill comes back after last week’s electric performance.
I think the Aggies will do a better job containing him on the ground and I don’t trust him to lead BYU to a resounding victory, or any victory at all.
