Mike Leach is hoping his patented high powered offense continues to develop in Pullman and that his squad shocks some people. .

Stanford

Quarterback Kevin Hogan handled his first year as Andrew Luck’s replacement pretty well and goes into his second year with a lot more experience under his belt. On the season, Hogan is 39 of 62 for 546 yards, 7 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

It wouldn’t be a Stanford offense without a steady ground assault and this year is no different. Tyler Gaffney has 59 carries on the year for 331 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also has 4 catches for 47 yards and a receiving touchdown. Anthony Wilkerson has 144 yards rushing and a touchdown on the season as well.

Leading the Stanford receiving corps is Ty Montgomery, who has 14 catches for 273 yards and 4 touchdowns this season. Devon Cajune has 6 receptions for 129 yards and 1 touchdown. The Stanford offense averages 401 yards per game.

The Cardinal defense is lead by one of the top linebackers in the nation in Shane Skov. On the year, Skov has 24 tackles, 1.5 for loss and a sack. As a whole, the defense has racked up 22 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, 3 interceptions, 15 passes defended, a fumble recovery, 2 blocked kicks and a safety. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Trends:

  • STANFORD are 6-2 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
  • STANFORD are 19-7-1 ATS in their last 27 road games.

Prediction: Stanford -10.5

Washington State’s defense has been stingy this year. And while they did upset USC, that game won’t come close to the offense they will face against the Cardinal. Stanford runs away with this one. (See what I did there?)
