Spartans vs Chippewas NCAAF Betting + Handicapping Picks
Both Michigan State and Central Michigan won their season openers and the Spartans got off to a good start beating a ranked team. Even though the Chippewas are 3-9 in each of their last 2 seasons the Spartans cannot over look them.

No. 11 Michigan State Spartans vs. Central Michigan Chippewas Preview
That may be hard to do since MSU faces the ranked teams of Notre Dame and Ohio State in 2 of their next 3 games. NCAAF lines have Michigan State as big 20.5-away favorites with a total of 48.
In their opening games Michigan State beat Boise State 17-13 and Central Michigan beat Southern Missouri State 38-27.
While both teams won their season openers neither team covered the spread.
MSU QB Andrew Maxwell had a good first game passing for 248 yards and he has a decent WR corps, but their big gun on offense is RB Le’Veon Bell. He is a Heisman hopeful and added to his resume for that award rushing for 210 yards with 2 TD in the win over Boise State.
While Central Michigan won their season opener and played solid pass defense their run defense gave up 188 yards and that is a big concern going up against Bell.
Central Michigan had 3 turnovers in the win over Southern Missouri State and if that happens again they will get crushed. MSU also had 4 turnovers in their game against Boise State and if they cough up the ball like that against maybe CMU has a chance. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
The Chippewas racked up 495 total yards in their opening win and like MSU they are led by their rushing offense. Central Michigan had 2 players rush for over 100 yards in the win over Southern Missouri State with Zurlon Tipton setting career bests with 180 rushing yards and 3 TD. Michigan State has a solid defense and in the win over Boise State they only gave up 37 rushing yards.
Central Michigan did pull off a big upset beating MSU in 2009, but last season the Spartans laid a 45-7 beat down on the Chippewas.
In some betting trends for this non-conference match up Michigan State is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games, 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall, and they have an Over record of 5-2 in their last 7 games.
Central Michigan is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games and they have an Over record of 4-1 in their last 5 home games.
Jason’s Pick: The Spartans will have no problems winning this game and they will also cover because Bell will have a big game and MSU will stuff the run.
