UL Monroe Warhawks vs. Baylor Bears Gambling Prediction & Week 4 Preview

Louisiana-Monroe vs. Baylor College Football Spread/Handicapping

The Baylor Bears are scary on offense. For the third year in a row they have had a different quarterback pulling the strings but they are putting up the kind of numbers you usually only see when you an experienced QB, not a sophomore first time starter.

This year just might be their best offense yet because they have a real home run threat and Heisman candidate at running back in Lache Seastrunk. Louisiana-Monroe has been developing a bit of a reputation as a team no big conference program wants to face.

They were punchless against Oklahoma in their opener but did manage to beat Wake Forest last week.

Wake is probably the worst team in the ACC but they are still better than Georgia State. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Louisiana-Monroe

The Warhawks gave up 34 points to an Oklahoma team that hadn’t found its offense yet so it is scary to think about how this game might go against the infinitely more potent Baylor attack. I really don’t think they can stop the Bears but they might be able to have enough success on offense to slow them down and keep it respectable…maybe.

QB Kolton Browning is very experienced and has just the right amount of moxie to thrive in these kinds of games. He came super close to engineering upsets last year so if they can somehow keep it close they can count on him to play well late.

It is just asking a bit too much of the rest of this team. He had a great game in a 5 point loss to the Bears last year.

Baylor

The Baylor offense has been terrific this year. They are first in points and first in yards per game, even ahead of Oregon (imagine if they still has Seastrunk). As I mentioned earlier they have a new captain at the helm in QB Bryce Petty and it appears that he is looking to make his mark on the record book like those who preceded him – he just needs to have a game that is close enough so he can actually get a full number of attempts.

The same goes for Seastrunk who is averaging almost 10 yards per carry but is just not getting the opportunity to put up huge numbers because they are giving other players a chance once the game is decided. What bodes especially well for this Baylor team is that they have been solid on defense too.

They haven’t played any legit programs or conference foes yet but they are second in the nation averaging only 8 ppg against. If they can be even average defensively the B12 is in trouble and they whooped up on Buffalo way more than Ohio State did.
