It has been a long time since this game had any real meaning. – I know I am old enough to remember Wide Right, are you?. Both of these teams are ranked in the top 10, leading their respective ACC divisions and of course undefeated.

The Seminoles have had one of the most impressive victories of the season in their beat down of Clemson but Miami has barely escaped in their last two victories over mediocre opponents.
The hope is that they will rise to the occasion on Saturday. The spread says they won’t.
Miami
The Miami Hurricanes certainly did their best to quiet the hype in Coral Gables with their lacklustre performances over the last couple of weeks. This is only the second time this season they will be the underdogs and in the first they won outright against Florida, but that was at home. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
If they are going to repeat that result they are likely going to need their best offensive and defensive games of the season. On offense RB Duke Johnson is already close to eclipsing his rushing total from last season but he seems to do it chunks. He either has a huge game – 3 with 160+ yards – or is nothing special. They are going to need him to be extra special against one of the best defenses in the nation.
They are also going to need an extra special performance by a defense whose impressive numbers might be as much a product of good scheduling as dominating. There is talent for Miami they will have to let it all hang out to beat FSU.
Florida State
Though the rankings may not say so there is a good chance that Florida State is the best team in the nation. If you just look at points they are 3rd in scoring and 4th in points allowed. Yards – 4th and 8th. All those numbers add up to something special and we haven’t even talked about QB Jameis Winston.
All the pundits want to compare Winston to Johnny Manziel but I think he is so much better. There is no doubting that Manziel is a superior and more willing running runner but when it comes to throwing the football he isn’t even close despite what the yardage numbers say. Winston has an absolute cannon but at the same time is super accurate, completing 70% of his passes. He hasn’t had an off game yet but if he did that defense could easily make even a couple of touchdown stand up if it had to.
They held Clemson to under 300 yards and the Tigers are a better offensive team than Miami.
