The Utes, on the other hand, fell 19-16 in overtime to the then-ranked No. 14 Arizona State Sun Devils.

Oregon

The Oregon Ducks had two games circled on their schedule when the season began. The first was Michigan State in Week 2. The team walked away with a successful showing, but the second was the Stanford Cardinal — the team that had beaten Oregon the last two seasons.

As it turned out, Stanford just isn’t the same team this year, as the Ducks cruised to a 45-16 victory.

Ahead lies the Utah Utes — a team that has gone 6-2 this season and is coming off a three-point overtime loss to the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Luckily for the Ducks, Utah is not an elite team throwing the ball. In fact, it’s just 111th in passing yards per game this season, which is good news for an Oregon team that is just 118th at defending the pass.

Look for the Ducks to clog the middle in an attempt to stop the run. Utah is 42nd in rushing this season, which is significant only when you consider how anemic they’ve been through the air.

Utah

Like the Ducks, Utah has had trouble stopping passing offenses this season. On the year, the Utes are 100th in defending the pass.

Unlike the Ducks, Utah will have to deal with Marcus Mariota — the Heisman candidate dual-threat quarterback who has gotten Oregon to 16th in the country in terms of passing yards per game this season.

Although passing defense could very likely be a problem for Utah, the team has done an excellent job slowing down the run. Teams that stop Oregon’s running game have had success in the past, and at this point in the process, the Utes are 28th in opposing yards per game on the ground.

  • Over is 17-5 in ORE last 22 games in November.
  • Under is 6-2 in UTAH last 8 home games.

Week 11 NCAA Football

Utah has home-field advantage in this one, but the problem is that not even having the crowd on your side will automatically produce points.

Free NCAA Betting Pick 4* Oregon -8

After watching what Oregon did to Stanford’s elite defense last week, it’s tough to imagine Utah being the one that finally puts a halt to Oregon’s four-game winning streak while scoring at least 42 points per game (47.8 average).

Look for the Ducks to come out firing, and barring a massive performance from Utah’s defense, this one should be in Oregon’s favor both straight up and ATS when the clock strikes zero.
