Clemson vs Wake Forest Odds & Prediction

Clemson is at 6-1 and they have won 3 straight games. However, their only loss has come against Florida State, who beat them in ACC play and if the Seminoles run the table in conference play the Tigers may be out of the BCS picture.

No. 18 Clemson Tigers vs. Wake Forrest Demon Deacons Preview

Wake Forrest is at 4-3 and they won their last game, which snapped their 2-game losing streak. Wake Forrest has to play good defense in this game facing Clemson and their 16th ranked offense and they have to rely on their D since their offense only ranks 80th in the nation in points per game.

Clemson has beaten Wake Forrest in 3 straight games.

In their last games both teams played solid on the defensive end of the ball with Wake Forrest beating Virginia 16-10 and Clemson beat Virginia Tech 38-17.

Clemson is 5-2 ATS with an Over/Under record of 5-2 and Wake Forrest is at 4-3 ATS with an Over/Under record of 3-3.

Tajh Boyd leads the Clemson offense and he has not only passed for almost 2,000 yards, but he also has the 2nd most rushing yards. WR DeAndre Hopkins is, by far, his biggest target, as he has over 600 receiving yards more than the Tigers’ 2nd leading WR. Wake Forrest has a decent pass D ranking 53rd in the nation. While Wake has a decent pass D the same cannot be said about their run D, which only ranks 85th in the country. They may have a hard time containing Andre Ellington, who is averaging over 5.1 yards per carry and rushed for 92 yards last week in the win over Virginia Tech.

The defense is key for the Demon Deacons, as they cannot get into a shootout and come out with a win. They only had 213 total yards against Virginia last week, but they played good D and they forced 3 turnovers.

QB Tanner Price and RB’s Josh Harris and Deandre Martin, who have combined to rush for 731 yards this season, are the keys on offense for the Demon Deacons. The rushing game may be more important for Wake Forrest and they will be facing a suspect run defense of Clemson, which only ranks 99th in the nation.

In some betting trends for this ACC match up Clemson is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games and in their last 11 games overall they have an Under record of 8-3.

Wake Forrest is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 ACC games and they have an Under record of 8-3 in their last 11 games overall.

Jason’s Pick: The Tigers do not have a great defense, but their defense is just way to strong for Wake to deal with and Clemson will easily win this game and cover the spread.
