The Buffaloes beat the Huskers in their last meeting on Nov. 28, 2008, 40-31. But this year may prove otherwise.

Nebraska has won four consecutive games including a 17-3 win over Kansas in Week 12. Running back Roy Helu carried the ball 26 times for 95 yards with a TD.

The Huskers defense was solid in not allowing a Kansas to score a single touchdown and forcing two turnovers deep in Nebraska territory in the win. The victory also secured Nebraska’s first Big 12 North championship since 2006. Helu has posted 1,057 rushing yards this season and became the 29th Nebraska player to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season. Freshman running back Rex Burkhead who missed five weeks with a hairline fracture in his foot but returned to action Saturday. Burkhead gives Nebraska’s running game a one to punch coupled with Helu.

Colorado has lost 2 straight games. Nothing will be riding on Colorado’s final game except pride. Colorado dropped a 31-28 decision to Oklahoma State in Week 12. Quarterback Tyler Hansen completed 23-of-37 for 172 yards with a pair of TD passes in the loss, despite a bruised throwing thumb. Brian Lockridge returned a kick 98 yards for a touchdown to put the Buffs up 28-24 in the fourth quarter, but the Colorado defense would give up touchdown plays of 45, 47 and 28 yards in the second.
