Louisville meanwhile, moved to 6-0 on the season after making short work of Rutgers last Thursday night.

Central Florida enters this one after a much needed bye week, as they prepare to square off against a Cardinals team that has only allowed a total of 44 points through six games this season.

And scoring points not something the Knights do well, currently ranking 50th in the country.

Nevertheless, UCF beat Memphis last time out, 24-17, once again leaning heavily on their defense, which ranks 11th nationally and has been a big part of their four wins this season as the offense has sputtered.

But things look a little brighter offensively, as Breshad Perriman ran right past the Tigers’ defense, rolling up 107 receiving yards. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Nevertheless, the game still came down to the wire, with a late scooped fumble on a kick return being the difference with 1:56 to play.

Meanwhile, Teddy Bridgewater and the Cardinals throttled the Scarlet Knights defense in his team’s most recent action, throwing for 310 yards and two touchdowns as Louisville downed Rutgers.

The defense also got into the action, forcing four turnovers, while Senorise Perry had a game high 104 yards on the ground with a touchdown as well.

It’s that balanced teamwork that has garners the Cards a 7-0 record.

Matt’s Free Prediction

The UCF offense needs to step up its game against a stingy Louisville defense or things could get out of hand early.

If the Cardinals get too far ahead in the onset, a small cushion for the top ranked Louisville scoring defense could just seal the win.

The Knights secondary will need to put pressure on Bridgewater while applying strong coverage by their DBs.

And while Central Florida looked shaky against the Tigers two weeks ago, I expect them to keep this one close in the first half, before the Cardinals pull away for the two touchdown win.

Louisville 42, UCF 20
