Kansas State

It seems like no matter how much success this program has they will be underrated as they will be underdogs again on the road looking to beat another ranked conference opponent.  The last time they were in this situation they won at Oklahoma.  So don’t count them out.

That is because there is definitely something special about QB Colin Klein.

His overall stats might be tracking behind last year’s stellar season but he is getting it done once again in the win column.  Also, running back John Hubert is one of the most overlooked players in the country.

He is tracking to easily top 1000 yards again, possibly with 20 touchdowns.  Against WVU the Wildcats might be able to get all the offense they need from the running game.

If you had been betting against K-State this year than you haven’t been winning as they have a 4-1-1 ATS record including that big upset down in Norman.

This will be a completely different trick as the Wildcats have never been to Morgantown, which is a pretty good home field advantage.

If you don’t they will win then stay away from the KSU side. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

West Virginia

I am not sure I believed in West Virginia as a title contender but I thought they would breeze through last week on their return trip to Texas to face Texas Tech.  Instead they were defeated rather easily in a game that was never close.

The game revealed two things:  that WVU can’t play defense (we already knew that) and that their offense is capable of stalling (we weren’t sure based on what we have seen thus far).

The loss might have ended the Heisman candidacy for QB Geno Smith who was pedestrian with just 275 yards and 1 TD.  His completion percentage dropped to 75% (I know) but he can shoot right back into the conversation if he performs well and the team wins.

WVU needs to win and they have no gimmies on their schedule until the last week of the season when Kansas comes to visit.

I really like WVU n this one and the loss probably dropped the line to make them one of my more favourite plays of the week.

I said that last week too but a FG victory for a team like this at home sounds too good to be true.  The key will be stopping the Wildcats in the red zone as I expect they will be able to move the ball.  But they are not as good offensively as Baylor.

Spread Pick:  West Virginia -2.5
O/U Pick:  Over
