These Bulldogs are not BCS buster material but they will give you a game and know how to put points on the board.
I think they can be a live dog at Boise which isn’t the same Boise we are used to.

That has provided great balance to their attack with diminutive running back Robbie Rouse churning out yards just like he did last season (9th in yards).
The defense has been alright too, failing only to contain Oregon and Tulsa – both on the road and both losses.
The Bulldogs have been getting their clock cleaned by Boise for years. In three of the last 4 years the spread has been greater than 3 TDs which shows the difference in the level of these clubs over that time.
This year they are far closer but showing up to win on the blue turf is a challenge for any opponent, even one who is familiar with the environment.

Considering who he replaced to you have to give new QB Joe Southwick some credit. Still this team is not the offensive juggernaut we are used to seeing. Lucky for them they are a top defensive team giving up just 15ppg. They have yet to tangle with a team I would consider as having a really good offense though.
Fresno State may give them some problems with their balance and overall talent.
We got so used to seeing the Broncos dominate, covering big number after big number, making it hard to evaluate them this year.
The likelihood is that this team will get better as the season progresses but I think they are ripe from some disappointment this week unless the surroundings spook the Bulldogs.
