Mississippi State

It has certainly been a dream season for the Bulldogs but it is not done yet because if they fade down the stretch a la South Florida it might be nothing more than the Gator Bowl once again.

The first hurdle is Alabama on the road this week and you have to like their chances…of covering.

They are a whopping -8.5 as the top ranked and undefeated team in the nation so if they were looking for any fuel for their fire there there you go.

This game is in the afternoon which might benefit the visitors…less build up.

If the Bulldogs are going to pull of the upset it almost goes without saying that Dak Prescott is going to have to have his Heisman moment, probably more than one of them.

He is a legit run/pass threat and that is the kind of player who has had success against Alabama in the recent past, see Johnny Manziel.

The last thing you want to be against Alabama is predictable or one dimensional and he will have to make sure they aren’t.

Alabama

The Crimson Tide nearly screwed up this matchup last week when they needed overtime to beat LSU.

The game was in Death Valley and quite frankly Alabama did not put up a good performance offensively. Early in the season the explosiveness of the Tide was all the rage but but lately things have been lacking.

With the personnel they have at the skill positions they should be better.

The running game especially hasn’t been all that dominating but that might be the offensive line more than the backs.

Alabama’s strategy of getting the ball to Amari Cooper as much as possible is a sound one.

He is probably the best playmaker in college football right now but you can bet that MSU will gameplan around that.

In the recent past the Tide have won on the heels of their dominant defense and they could certainly lean on that again this year.

NCAA Football Week #12 Prediction:  Mississippi State +8.5

Still a touchdown plus seems like a lot given everything that has happened this season.

4* FREE NCAAF Score prediction: Alabama 27-24

Alabama wins to poke a hole in MSU but I think this can be close, which would be a victory in itself for the Bulldogs.
