The buzz died down in Greenville when the Pirates had a surprise loss to Temple a couple of weeks ago.
The loss killed even the remote shot they might have had of cashing into one of the big bowl games but an AAC Championship is still a very real possibility for the Pirates.

This team has proven they can compete with pretty much anyone in the country and would like to establish a strong position within the conference. Beating the Bearcats on the road will help with that.
Shane Carden is coming off his worst game of the season and maybe worst as a starter in the loss to Temple.
He barely broke 200 yards passing and for the only time this season failed to throw a scoring pass.

Carden is accurate and experienced so the odds are in our favour that he bounces back against Cincinnati. This is one of the most prolific passing offenses in the nation – 3rd in ypg.
Cincinnati
The programs around the Bearcats keep changing as the league does but they are in their customary spot fighting for the league title.
One of the more underrated programs in the country they are in the mix to win the AAC and have a great chance to get to double-digit victories against – they have done it 5 times in the last 7 seasons.
With an exciting young QB they have a chance to let all of the league newcomers know that they are not to be trifled with.
They have won three in a row only dropping their AAC opener to Memphis.
Gunner Kiel is finally playing and playing well. He has had several big games this season but comes into this one on the injured list with a rib injury, though he is expected to play – hopefully he and Carden can have a nice duel.
The Bearcats are usually among the most stout defensive teams in the nation but this season they have really fallen off.
They are a shocking 113th in yards allowed and give up 30ppg.
