Central Florida will look to rebound and keep pace with the top contenders in the conference.

Tulsa

The Golden Hurricane have not had much to build off of this season.  After taking their opening game of the season, they dropped 7 in a row.  Tulsa finally found a bright spot last week, when QB Dane Evans threw for 5 touchdown passes in their 38-28 win over SMU.

Tulsa is essentially playing for pride these next couple of weeks, as their hopes for getting an invite to a bowl game will be nowhere to be found in 2014.  A road upset against a team competing for an American Athletic Conference title would go a long way in reestablishing the foundation of Tulsa football.

So far this season, Tulsa is averaging a mere 25.4 points per game (90th) while allowing 39.2 points per contest (121st).

Their road struggles are no secret either.  On the road, Tulsa is 0-4 SU and averaging just 20.5 points per game, while allowing 41.8 against.

To have any hopes in this match up, Tulsa will have to lean on their passing game which ranks 20th in the FBS with 294.1 passing yards per contest.

UCF

The Knights will look to rebound this week after stumbling to Connecticut on the road prior to their bye week.  The Knights had an opportunity to seize control of the AAC with East Carolina going down, but failed to do so thanks in large part to QB Justin Holman’s 4 INTs in the game.

Not all the blame can be put on Holman’s INTs however.  The defense, which is typically shutdown only allowing 21.4 points per game (24th), was simply outmatched by Connecticut’s ground game.  Connecticut ran for 179 yards and scored over 21 points for the first time this season.

Central Florida returns home to Orlando, where they are unbeaten this year at 4-0 SU.  The Knights also thrive under the Friday night lights.  They have won 5 straight Friday night games, including a win over #8 ranked Louisville last season.

The Knights are averaging 30.0 points at home, while allowing allowing 16.8.

NCAA Football Handicapping Trends:

  • Knights are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
  • Knights are 15-7 ATS in their last 22 games following a S.U. loss.
  • Home team is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings
  • Under is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings between the two teams.

Week 12 NCAA Football

Even with their loss to Connecticut, Central Florida is still well alive in their hunt for back to back AAC titles.  If the Knights can avoid turnovers in their own territory this game, Tulsa should struggle to put points on the board.

While Tulsa looks to play the spoiler role down the stretch of the season, Central Florida has to be ready to take out some frustration from two weeks ago.

Free NCAA 4* Betting Pick: Central Florida -18

This is a lot of points to lay with this Central Florida team, but going back home against a sub par defense is just what this team needs.  QB Justin Holman has a bounce back game and the Knights roll 38-7.
