SMU
The Mustangs (0-4) hadn’t won a game all season, and things only got worse after this past weekend’s 56-0 pounding at the hands of visiting Texas Christian.

SMU’s struggles to move the ball offensively, continued against the Horned Frogs, managing just 245 yards. Quarterback Garrett Krstich has a dismal outing, completing just 14-of-32 passes for only 142 yards and an interception.
But the turnovers didn’t end there, the Mustangs also lost a pair of fumbles which also helped seal their fat.
The defense meanwhile, surrendered 614 yards to TCU and were virtually . ineffective against the Horned Frogs running and passing.
East Carolina
The Pirates (3-1) got a week off after cruising to a 70-41 of instate rival North Carolina.

East Carolina proved its No. 23 ranking by storming out to a hot offensive start and never let off the acclerator, rolling up 787 yards and 39 first downs.
Quarterback Shane Carden controlled the air and connected on 30-of-48 passes for 438 yards with four touchdowns including two to Trevon Brown.
The Pirates also dominated on the ground, with Breon Allen providing the muscle with 211 yards and a pair of trips to the endzone.
Defensively, the Pirates did allowed 41 points, so enough said.

Week 6 NCAA Football Spread Prediction
This a huge spread, but I question whether East Carolina can repeat last week’s dominating offensive performance.
Also, with the defense giving up points at will against a middling North Carolina offense, the Mustangs may be able to keep this one closer than the current spread is indicating.
I think the Pirates win this straight up, but I am laying down my money on SMU and taking the points.
