Ohio State

Ohio State has been an improved program the past few weeks, which is timely considering they travel to take on the No. 8 team in the country in Michigan State this weekend.

Where Ohio State could struggle in this one is pass defense. The team is 13th in the nation in terms of passing yards allowed this season, but the sample size is far from impressive. Against the only true passing offensive they’ve faced so far, they were torched. Cincinnati got the best of them, and that’s what the Spartans will try to do on Saturday.

Overall, the Buckeyes have been very good on both sides of the ball. Defensively, the team is allowing just 19.9 points per contest, which is good enough for 17th in the country. On offense, Ohio State is scoring 45.6 points per contest — the fourth-best mark in the nation.

Tossing the ball, Ohio State is just 55th in the nation, but the team makes up for it running the ball.

The Buckeyes are compiling 259.3 yards per game on the ground, which is good enough for 14th nationwide.

Michigan State

Michigan State is 7-1 this season. However, the team is just 5-3 against the spread.

Luckily for those watching the spread, this one is expected to be within a touchdown in MSU’s favor.

So far this season, the Spartans are averaging 45.5 points per game. That number is fifth in the nation, and it’s because the team is passing the ball well and running at an elite level.

Defensively, Sparty is 22nd in the country in terms of points allowed. The team is giving up 20.3 points per contest through its first eight.

Week 11 NCAA Football

Regardless of the eventual outcome, we enter this contest with it being the conference’s most highly anticipated game of the year. These two squads are the gems of the Big Ten, and we’re bound to get a good show in Week 11.

Free NCAA Betting Pick 4* Michigan State -3.5

If the spread were a touchdown or higher, this prediction might go the other way. Ohio State should keep this one close, but getting within a field-goal just doesn’t seem realistic if the MSU passing game has as much success as some expect it to.

Keep an eye on the spread as we get closer to kickoff, but anything less than a touchdown makes the Spartans a reasonable favorite.
