North Carolina

The Tar Heels (2-1) got spanked by the Pirates 70-41 on Saturday, after starting their 2014 campaign with wins over Liberty and San Diego State.

UNC rolled up 439 total yards of offense in that one, but due to 85-yards in penalties and a key turnover, the Heels were not able to keep up.

Offensively, quarterback Marquise Williams completed 14-of-25 passes for 127 yards and one interception while RB running back Romar Morris carried rushed for 46 yards and two touchdowns.

However, the defense completely melted down, allowing East Carolina to rack up a embarrassing 789 total yards, The Tar Heels had no answer for East Carolina QB Shane Carden who passed for 446 yards, while the Pirates ran for another 343 yards.

Clemson

The Tigers (1-2) suffered a devastating 23-17 loss at No. 1 Florida State in overtime last weekend.

Just one week after bouncing back with a win over South Carolina State, following a 24-point loss to Georgia, the Tigers looked poised to upset the Seminoles and grad their second win of the season.

Clemson outgained the Seminoles 407 to 317 in total yards and forced two turnovers, while only committing three penalties.

Fueled by quarterback Deshaun Watson, who completed 19-of-28 passes for 266 yards, while also rushing for 30 yards and one touchdown, the Tigers held their ground, until one costly turnover proved to be the end.

Meanwhile, the Tigers stout defense held Florida State to only 13 rushing yards and a season low 23 points.

Week 5 NCAA Football Spread Prediction

Despite its loss to the Seminoles, I think Clemson gained some confidence, and if they can avoid costly turnovers, it should be able to rack up some points early against a Tar Heels defense that won’t be improving any time soon.

4* FREE Score Prediction: Clemson 48, North Carolina 31

I’ll take Clemson to win by at least 14 in a high scoring affair.
