Kentucky

The Wildcats (5-1) need just one more win this season to punch their bowl ticket, and with an offense that is averaging 36.5 points and 448.5 yards per game, it shouldn’t be that difficult — unless you have to play the Tigers at home.

Quarterback Patrick Towles will need to bring his A-game to Death Valley. The sophomore gunslinger is packing a lot of heat this season, throwing 10 touchdowns and racking up 1,541 yards.

He is complimented by a UK running game led by the team’s leading rusher Jojo Kemp, who is averaging 5.3 yards per carry with four touchdowns.

Defensively, the Wildcats are allowing just 18.7 points per game and 343.5 yards with 11 interceptions, five fumble recoveries and 17 sacks.

LSU

The Tigers (5-2) squeaked by at Florida last week to pick up their fifth win of the season.

LSU is in a rebuilding year, but you’d never know it considering how they are playing. Still, two losses for a storied LSU football franchise is unthinkable and disappointing.

But let’s don’t lose sight of the fact that the LSU offense is still averaging 34.9 points per game and 414.1 yards even in a down year.

They are led by quarterback Anthony Jennings, who despite only completing 50 percent of his passes, still has six touchdowns.

A solid rushing attack has helped the Tigers, as Leonard Fournette paces the LSU rushing attack with six touchdowns.

The defense is making the biggest impact of all, allowing a meager 19 points and 333.3 yards per game with eight interceptions, 11 sacks and eight fumble recoveries.

College football betting trends

* UK are 5-15 ATS in their last 20 road games.
* UK are 5-14 ATS in their last 19 conference games.
* Over is 14-6 in LSU last 20 games on grass.

Week 8 NCAA Football Spread Prediction

All of the pressure is on UK here, as this would another huge win.

Meanwhile, the Tigers have a roster loaded with talent, but little experience in game of this importance.

I’m going out on a limb here, and predicting what might be the biggest upset in college football this season.
