Fresno State

The Bulldogs (1-3) finally got a win with a 56-16 thumping of Southern Utah to last weekend.

Fresno State dominated its weaker opponent rolling up nearly 700 yards and 29 first downs.

Running back Marteze Waller led the offensive charge with 117 yards and a touchdown, while Josh Quezda chipped in with 84 yards and a score.

Meanwhile, the passing game finally saw some life, with Brian Burrell and Zach Greenlee combining for 254 yards and three touchdowns.

Last week’s performance ranks the Dawgs’ offense at 74th, averaging 423.8 yards per game.

Defensively, the Bulldogs are struggling, allowing an average of 541 yards per game.

New Mexico

The Lobos (1-2) also picked up a close 38-35 win at instate rival New Mexico State this past week.

UNM battled the Aggies until scoring the winning touchdown with 27 seconds remaining.

The Lobos finished the game with 500 yards of offense, 432 yards of which came on the run, which was led by Crusoe Gongbay, who rushed for 134 yards, with Jhurell Pressley totaling 77 yards and a TD.

The passing attack involved four players that threw passes with a combined 68 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Not bad for a team that is not known for its passing game with 88 yards passing so far this season.

Defensively, the Lobos are allowing 437.7 yards per game while giving up 44.5 points at home.

  • FRES are 6-19 ATS in their last 25 Fri. games.
  • FRES are 7-3 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.

Week 5 NCAA Football Spread Prediction

New Mexico is 0-2 at home this season, while Fresno State is 0-2 on the road.

The Bulldogs are averaging 20 points scoring, and holding teams to 55.5 points on the road, while the Lobos are averaging 23.5 scoring at home

I think an argument could be made for either team here, but I am going with the home dog in this one, based on a tad better defense against a Fresno State team that struggled to put up points away from home.

4* NCAAF Score Prediction: New Mexico 28, Fresno State 21
