Florida State

The Seminoles got lucky, (3-0) and escaped with a 23-17 overtime win at home against Clemson last weekend.

Playing without Heisman Trophy winning quarterback, Jameis Winston, who was suspended for making “offensive and vulgar comments earlier in the week on campus, FSU struggled behind back up Sean Maguire who completed 21-of-39 passes for 304 yards and a touchdown However, he threw two interceptions.

Meanwhile, the Tigers outgained Florida State 407 to 317 total yards, while holding them to just 13 rushing yards.

The Seminoles also only managed to convert 4-of-15 of their third downs and committed eight penalties in the game.

The running game nearly cost them, if it weren’t for a Tigers fumble a questionable overtime decision by Tigers coach Dabo Swinney.

Defensively, Florida State has had its trouble stopping the run and will need to do a better job up front against NCS.

North Carolina State

The Wolfpack (4-0) also remain undefeated, thumping Presbyterian 42-0 last weekend.

North Carolina State is averaging over 250 passing yards and over 245 rushing yards per game, albeit to some mediocre competition so far this season.

Led by junior quarterback Jacoby Brissett who has completed 83-of-119 passes for 1005 yards and 10 touchdowns, the Woolpack are putting up over 40 points a game, while allowing only 18.5 to their first four opponents.

The passing game is balanced by a solid running game that has rushed for over a combined 500 yards and eight scores. Like FSU, the Wolfpack have allowed a lot of offense yards, with 502 per game.

Week 5 NCAA Football Spread Prediction

While the Wolfpack will be no easy pushover, I expect Winston and the Seminoles will come out hot and heavy this Saturday.

4* Free Score Prediction: Florida State 35, North Carolina State 27

A solid North Carolina State team has looked good so far this year, but they haven’t faced the likes of Florida State.
