The Mississippi State Bulldogs host the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday in an SEC tilt in Week 6 of the college football season. Both teams enter the game undefeated, meaning this game has major implication in the SEC West.

The Aggies are 5-0 for the first time since 2001, and only remain undefeated because of a thrilling comeback win over Arkansas last weekend, upping their record to 2-0 in the SEC. Texas A&M trailed by 14 points in the fourth quarter of that one, but scored a pair of touchdowns in the game’s final 15 minutes to force overtime and eventually come away with a victory.

It’s been a different story for Mississippi State, who have been one of the rising stars in the SEC. The team went from unranked to No. 14 in the nation with their upset win over LSU, and climbed another two spots following their bye week to No. 12, their highest ranking since November of 1999.

Texas A&M has a signature win over their own as they took down South Carolina in Columbia in their opener, though that win has lost some of its luster as the Gamecocks picked up a second loss this past weekend and haven’t been able to live up to preseason expectations.

The Aggies have taken both meetings between these squads since they joined the SEC, including a thrilling 51-41 victory a year ago. The team’s offense has been firing on all cylinders again this season to the tune of 51.2 points per game and 594.6 yards per game.

The team’s offense runs through Kenny Hill, who started slow a week ago but finished the game with 386 yards and four touchdowns. Mississippi State has a solid quarterback of its own in Dak Prescott, who has thrown for 964 yards and 11 touchdowns with two interceptions on the season, adding 378 yards and three scores on the ground.

FREE Mississippi State vs. Texas A&M Pick:

The Aggies have pulled the wool over a lot of people’s eyes this season. They can score points with the best of them, but this line does not reflect how good Mississippi State has been this season, while the Aggies have had trouble pulling away of lesser opponents.

Additionally, Kenny Hill isn’t the only marquee quarterback in this matchup, as Dak Prescott has been solid for Mississippi State as well. While both defenses are strong, it’s the offenses that will put on a show for the Starkville faithful.

Mississippi State is 5-0 ATS in its last five conference games and 8-1 ATS in its last nine games overall, while Texas A&M is 1-4 ATS in its last five conference games.

The over is 8-3 in the Aggies’ last 11 conference games and 4-0 in their last four games in the month of October.

The play: Mississippi State -2.5, Over 68.5
