NCAA Football Picks: Handicapping Angles – Week 11 Free Parlay

Week 11 Free NCAAF Parlay Picks

Can you believe that there are less than a handful of games left for each team this season?

For my week 11 free parlay I’m going with Minnesota at home over Iowa and I’m also going with another home team, as I really like Tulsa to cover ATS over SMU.

As always, be sure to visit Cappers Picks for our latest free college football picks.

Game #1 – Minnesota Golden Gophers vs. Iowa Hawkeyes

NCAA Football Point Spread: Iowa –2.5
NCAA Football Over/Under: OFF

Minnesota and Iowa are both sitting with a 6-2 (3-1 Big Ten) record heading into this week. Minnesota has lost to TCU (30-7) and Illinois (28-24) last week. Both of the losses came in road games.

The Golden Gophers are 5-0 at home this season although this is their toughest foe at home so far. Iowa is coming off a dominating home win over Northwestern (48-7), but they’re not as good on the road.

Iowa is 2-1 on the road with a loss to Maryland (38-31). Their road wins came against Pittsburgh (24-20) and Purdue (24-10). This game will come down to whether David Cobb can get going or not.

Cobb already has 211 carries for 1131 rushing yards and 7 TD’s. Minnesota ranks 32nd in rushing yards as a team (216.0 RYPG), but they only score 28.1 PPG (76th) because they can’t pass the football.

As a team the Golden Gophers average 140.5 PYPG (122nd) and they won’t have success against Iowa who only allows 185.4 PYPG (16th). Minnesota will have to be able to rush the football to win at home.

Iowa is actually pretty good at stopping the run as well (137.4 RYPG – 38th). The Hawkeyes offense isn’t a huge threat, as they’re only averaging 29.6 PPG (66th), 244.9 PYPG (57th) and 155.6 RYPG (72nd).

Minnesota has OSU on deck and has to win this match-up at home against Iowa. Cobb can chew up the clock and if he can get into the endzone a couple times on Saturday the Gophers will win SU.

NCAA Football Pick: Take the Golden Gophers to win SU at home.

Game #2 – SMU Mustangs vs. Tulsa Golden Hurricane

NCAA Football Point Spread: Tulsa –12
NCAA Football Over/Under: OFF

SMU (0-7) and Tulsa (1-7) have combined for a single win this season. You may think I’m crazy for even wanting to bet on this match-up, but I think the bookmakers set this point spread too low.

The Mustangs are the worst team in the nation. They average 7.0 PPG (128th) and have only scored 10+ points twice this year. The defense is also terrible and has been allowing 48.0 PPG (128th).

Tulsa is extremely weak this season as well. They score 23.9 PPG (100th) and allow 40.6 PPG (122nd), but even the Golden Hurricane should be able to handle the Mustangs easily at home this weekend.

A big problem for Tulsa has been turnovers on offense. They actually pick up 295.1 PYPG (18th) although some of that has to do with the fact that they’re often down big and are forced to air it out.

[dfads params=’groups=63739&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

SMU is allowing 313.6 PYPG (121st) and Tulsa should be able to expose this secondary. Both defenses have been terrible this year, but a big difference in this game is that Tulsa is better offensively.

I’m not convinced that the Mustangs offense will be able to move the football consistently. They have no run game (66.1 RYPG – 126th) and the pass game has been very poor as well (183.3 PYPG – 106th).

At the end of the day Tulsa has a solid passing attack and they’re going up against the worst defense in the country plus they’re at home. If they can’t dominate this match-up Tulsa is worse than I thought.

NCAA Football Pick: Bet on Tulsa to cover ATS and dominate the Mustangs.
