With a win the Knights can earn  their  first ever American Athletic Conference Championship and a berth in a BCS Bowl game.

A victory on Friday will give the Knights at least a share of the American Athletic Conference title, while a win will also give then their first-ever victory against USF.

And hopes are high as the Bulls are struggling, coming off their fourth straight loss after being beaten by Southern Methodist 16- 6 their last time on the field.

The Bulls (2-8) were held to just 259 yards and 10 first downs.

The offense stalled out, while quarterback Mike White was picked off twice, completing just 19-of-34 passes for 217 yards.

In fact, the Bulls’ only touchdown came on a 50-yard punt return by Chris Dunkley with just over two minutes remaining.

Defensively, South Florida did a decent job as it has all season, keeping the game within reach while holding SMU to just 280 yards, including just 51 yards rushing on 30 attempts. But it was still wasn’t enough to outgain South Florida’s 42 yards on 22 rushes.

Meanwhile, the Knights are on a six-game winning streak after suffering their lone loss of the season back on Sept. 28, to South Carolina.

Their most recent win being a 41-17 romp over Rutgers, as Central Florida (9-1) outgained the Scarlet Knights 452-221

Quarterback Blake Bortles threw for 335 yards and a touchdown as the Knights remained unbeaten in American Athletic Conference play.

Bortles has 95 rushing yards in his last two games after producing 67 in his first eight, while J.J. Worton had five catches for 117 yards for Central Florida.

Defensively, UCF is allowing 20.2 points and 354.9 yards per game.

Matt’s Free Prediction

The Bulls lead the all-time series at 4-0 and won all four of those contests in non-conference play from 2005-2008. But UCF has built this year’s team for several years and I expect that they will continue to make this a season to forget for the Bulls.

Knights 44, Bulls 17
