Missouri faced Indiana as three-point favorites, but they smashed that number in a 17-point win, which has bettors peaking their way this weekend.

James Franklin threw for 343 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Hoosiers, running for an additional score. Running back Russell Hansbrough rushed the ball 13 times for 104 yards, including a late 45-yard touchdown run.

The play of the game was surely one by Missouri defensive end Kony Ealy, who snagged a Nate Sudfeld pass out of the air and returned it 49 yards the other way for a score. Sudfeld completed 21 of 39 passes for 229 yards and a score, but Missouri’s opportunistic defense was able to pick him off three times. Indiana entered the game averaging 50.0 points per game, but Missouri held them to just 28 points.

Arkansas State certainly didn’t enjoy their last game, dropping their game to Memphis, making them one of only two teams to lose outright as favorites in Week 4. The team’s offense was dreadful, getting limited to just 255 yards of offense. Quarterback Adam Kennedy finished 20 of 37 for 166 yards, even throwing his first interception of the year. The team’s only score of the game came with backup quarterback Fredi Knighten in the game, when he hit J.D. McKissic with a 15-yard pass. David Oku led the team in rushing, and that was with just 45 yards.

The team’s offensive line will need to do a better job of giving the offense time to operate – the team allowed eight tackles for a loss in the first half.

The biggest problem for Arkansas State was on defense, particularly the run defense. Memphis running back Marquis Warford rushed for 173 yards and a score, while Brandon Hayes added 114 yards and an additional score. All in all, the Tigers racked up 505 yards of total offense. Most of the offense came in the first half, as Memphis put up 24 of their 31 points in the game in the first half.

By the break, Memphis had outgained Arkansas State 315 to 134.

The Tigers are a team to keep a very close eye on in the second half of the season. While they certainly won’t go undefeated with a slate full of elite SEC opponents, they could make a strong run against the spread the rest of the way.

The pick extended Missouri’s streak of consecutive games with a turnover to 33.

The Tigers are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven non-conference games.

The play: Missouri -21.5
