ATS Matchup Insight | CP Insider Gambling Preview

Iowa

Before B10 play started they had just two losses to Iowa State and Villanova by a combined 8 points and it was looking like they might be able to insert themselves into the conference race.

Again they were sharp early but they lost 6 of 7 down the stretch and are limping right now.

Roy Devyn Marble looks like a good player but really he falls short. He takes a lot of shots but is not an efficient player, shooting less than 43% on the season. The Hawkeyes have other options and if they are going to advance someone is going to have to step forward.

The odds are Aaron White if he can focus his attention inside the arc where he is much better.

Iowa is just 9-14 ATS in games against winning competition this season. They were 15-15 ATS on the season but closed on a 7 game ATS losing streak and they are entering this game with about as little momentum as possible.

I just don’t seem them turning that around so you have to go with the Vols.

Tennessee

The Vols have been pretty solid all season long. Never losing more than 2 in a row while never winning more than 5 in a row. They played Florida tough in the SEC Tourney and have shown that they can handle elite teams including an absolute whooping they put on Virginia, the ACC champs.

These guys played Wichita State pretty close too. They can handle the good teams.

Few teams have as much beef inside as Tennessee. Jarrell Martin and Jeronne Maymon may not have great length but they use their broad shoulders to score close to the hoop and dominate on the glass.

Iowa has seen its share of brutes this year but these guys seem to love the contact and if they can stay out of foul trouble will be the reason Tennessee pushes on.

Tennessee had not lost a game in March until running into Florida in the SEC semis.

They have been just OK against the number this season though in this one that is kind of moot I suppose.

I would have thought they would have been advanced to the round of 64 previously but I guess now they will have to earn it the hard way.
