The South Carolina Gamecocks are the lower seed here but can gain some confidence from their victory over Ole Miss in February. The key to that game was near perfection at the line, 20 for 22, as frosh point guard Bruce Ellington might have had his worst game of the season with almost as many TOs (4) as points (6). They need this little guy to play well this time to have a chance at pulling another upset and extending their season.
He is the only one who can really carry the team by himself and he could make a name for himself if they do.
When Ole Miss lost to South Carolina last month Chris Warren scored 33 points and it still wasn’t enough, which could easily be the theme for their season. 
Warren is one of the better small guards in the country averaging 18ppg but often his wizardry hasn’t been enough to get the Rebels over the hump. He and fellow guard Zach Graham form one of the better backcourts in the country and they are the best reason this team could surprise in this tournament.
If they do they will have to get more upfront from forwards Buckner and Henry, especially when they play the better teams down the road, like Florida and Kentucky.
