This Saturday afternoon, in a classic Big East showdown, the Georgetown Hoyas head into Philadelphia to take on the Villanova Wildcats. Tip-off from the Wells Fargo Center is set for 12 p.m. and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

Georgetown has been a hard team to figure out lately; winning three straight games after losing three in a row. This past Wednesday the Hoyas beat St. John’s 77-52 as a 7 ½-point home favorite to move to 15-5 straight-up on the year and 12-7 against the spread. They are 4-4 SU in conference play.

Austin Freeman leads Georgetown in scoring with 18.3 points per game and Julian Vaughn is the leading rebounder with an average of 6.5. The Hoyas are shooting an impressive 50.8 percent from the floor and averaging 76 points a game.

Villanova has lost two of its last three games including a stunning 83-68 defeat at the hands of Providence as a 5 ½-point road favorite on Wednesday night. The Wildcats are now 17-3 SU and 10-6-3 ATS. Both losses were to teams in their conference to drop them to 5-2 SU in the Big East.

Corey Stokes and Corey Fisher lead a very experienced and deep Villanova roster. Both players are averaging just over 15 points and three rebounds a game with Fisher and Maalik Wayns tied for the team lead in assists per game with 5.1. The Wildcats are averaging 77 points a game and shooting 44.7 percent from the field.

Georgetown has won six of the last seven meetings SU and is 3-1 ATS in the last four, but stick with Villanova this time around to bounce back from a poor showing its last time out.
