Seton Hall: 9-4 SU, 2-5 ATS
Connecticut: 10-3 SU, 4-7 ATS

The Seton Hall Pirates hit the road to take on the No. 13 UConn Huskies at the Harry A Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, CT. on Wednesday.

The Huskies defeated the Pirates in their last meeting on Feb 14, 2009, 62-54. UConn has beaten Seton Hall nine straight times by an average of 16.1 points. The Huskies have taken 16 of the last 17 meetings and lead the series 40-18.

As a sinking Seton Hall team dropped their third in a row and fourth in five games Saturday, losing to Virginia Tech 103-94 in overtime at the Governor’s Cup in Cancun, Mexico. Eugene Harvey came up with the bucket with 15 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime. Jeremy Hazell led Seton Hall, with 24 points in the loss. Overtime hasn’t been good to the Pirates, as they have rallied to force extra time in two of the past three games entering this week, only to come away with a two losses.

The Pirates are still anticipating a breakout season for Missouri transfer Keon Lawrence who since scoring 11points in his debut against Temple, has combined for a mere 12 points over the past four games.

Over in Connecticut the Huskies rebounded from a loss in its Big East opener with Cincinnati, by knocking off Notre Dame 82-70 on Saturday.

The Huskies go-to-guy, 6-for-9 senior forward Stanley Robinson scored 22 points and grabbed career-high 16 rebounds, while Jerome Dyson scored 20 points and finished with 10 assists in the win. Robinson is averaging nearly 18 points per game and has been in double figures in every game this season, scoring 22 points in each of the team’s first two Big East games.

He is also shooting well from behind the arc, knocking down 15 of his first 27 3-point attempts.

The Pirates are 0-2 against teams in the Top 25. They will need to find a way to shut down UConn’s Stanley forcing the Huskies to rely more on their bench. Something they have not done thus far in the season.
