Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Alabama Crimson Tide Preview

OSU (6-4) has been up and down this season and it has been down as of late since they have lost their last 2 games. NCAAB lines have Alabama as 8-point home favorites in this non-conference match up with a total of 121.5.

In their last games Alabama lost to Kansas State 71-58 and OSU lost to New Mexico 66-56.

This season Alabama is 3-5 ATS with an Over/Under record of 4-4 and OSU is at 4-4 ATS with an Over/Under record of 4-4.

Defense will be key for Alabama in this game, as they only rank 225th in the nation in scoring. There is a good chance that they will play good D facing an OSU team that ranks 228th in the nation in FG%.

Alabama is led by the F duo of JaMychal Green (15.9 ppg) and Tony Mitchell and these guys have to play well to win this game, as the Tide do not have many scoring options. Not only are these 2 the leading scorers, but they are also the leading rebounders. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

OSU leading scorer Le’Bryan Nash (12.7 ppg) really struggled in the loss to New Mexico only going 2/13 from the field. Keiton Page (12.7 ppg) has failed to shoot over 50% from the floor in his last 2 games and if that happens again the Cowboys may be in trouble.

I mentioned the defense for Alabama and if they get back on D and not give up many fast-break points they should win this game. The Cowboys only rank 304th in the nation in assists, as they simply do not move the rock well. It is pretty easy for OSU, as they have to shoot the pill better and hit the boards to pull off the away upset.

Alabama really needs to get back on track since they begin their tough SEC schedule on January 3rd.

Betting Trends

OSU is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a road underdog of 7.0-12.5 points and they have an Under record of 11-4 in their last 15 games.

Alabama is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record, and they have an Under record of 6-2 in their last 8 home games.

Jason’s Pick: While I think Alabama will win this game it will be a close one, which is why OSU will cover the 8-point spread. The O/U call is a tough one, but since neither team is a high scoring one I would take the Under even though the total is a low one.
