This season Georgetown is 10-2 at home and Providence is 2-4 on the road.

In their last games Georgetown beat Creighton 67-40 and Providence lost to St. John’s 75-66.

Providence can pass Georgetown in the Big East standings with a win tonight, but the Friars are the 7-point underdog and they are only 2-4 on the road this season. While they are coming off a loss they beat Georgetown at home in OT a couple of weeks back.

Providence has only faced one ranked team all season and they was a bad loss to #1 Kentucky. The Friars have lost 31 straight road games against top 25 teams.

The Friars had their 3-game winning streak snapped with their loss to St. John’s.

Georgetown got over a rare home loss with a win in their last game and they are along with Providence and Butler with 3 Big East losses each trailing a 2-conference loss Villanova team.

Georgetown has won their last 6 home games facing Providence.

D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera leads the Hoyas in scoring and he went for 24 in the blowout win over Creighton. He went for 15 points in the loss to Providence a couple of weeks ago and he and Joshua Smith are the only 2 players for the Hoyas averaging in double figures.

The Friars leading scorer is LaDontae Henton, who also leads the Big East at 20.4 ppg, but has only averaged 12.5 ppg in his last 2 games. Kris Dunn has taken up the slack averaging 22.8 ppg in his last 4 games.
