California Golden Bears vs. #5Arizona Wildcats Preview

On the season Cal is 14-14-1 ATS and they have an O/U record of 12-16 and Arizona is 18-11 ATS and they have an O/U record of 13-16.

This season Arizona is 15-0 at home and Cal is 5-4 on the road.

In their last games Arizona beat Utah 63-57 and Cal beat Oregon State 73-56.

If there was ever a game where the road team needed a win it is this one. Cal is sitting with 17 wins and at 7-9 in Pac 12 play they have to win or they will end the season with a losing record in Pac 12 play. They are HUGE 19-point underdogs facing Arizona, who is the 5th ranked team in the nation, is undefeated at home, and have won 6 straight games.

Cal sits in 7th place in the Pac 12 and with 2 ranked teams in the conference they are on the bubble big time. They played themselves on the bubble losing 3 in a row before snapping that streak in their last game.

Arizona will be making the Big Dance, but if they end the season well and win the Pac 12 tournament they may get a #1 seed.

Giving 19 points to a 17-win team seems like a lot, but earlier this season at Cal the Wildcats crushed the Golden Bears by 23 points.

Arizona has the nation’s longest home winning streak at 37 games.

Cal is 2-4 this season facing ranked teams.

The Cal defense will be facing an Arizona offense that ranks 28th in the nation in points per game and 10th in team FG%. The Golden Bears have to play solid D to pull off the big upset, as they only rank 195th in the nation in ppg.

Tyrone Wallace, who leads Cal in scoring, and David Kravish, who are the top 2 rebounders, are the only players on the Golden Bears that beat Arizona in their house back in 2013. These 2 have to play well on the boards, as they were beaten badly on the glass in the earlier season match up with Arizona.

Stanley Johnson leads the Wildcats in scoring and rebounding, but Zona has a deep team. You can tell this, as Johnson was 3/19 in their last win, which was knocking off a ranked Utah team.

In their bad loss to Arizona at home earlier this season the Golden Bears committed 19 turnovers and only hit 1 of 4 free throws while the Wildcats were 23/26 from the charity stripe.

NCAAB Betting Trends

Arizona will win this game and they will win handily, but the Golden Bears will not be totally embarrassed and they will cover the big 19-point spread.
