The Sooners have wins in eight of their last nine games and are coming off a big win in their Big 12 opener, while the Jayhawks continue to struggle adjusting to the new bodies on the floor and have split their last eight games.

Kansas faced a tough San Diego State team in their last contest and couldn’t hold off a good Aztecs squad in a 61-57 loss.

Top scorer Andrew Wiggins had an off night, hitting on just 4 of 14 shots from the field and missing all four of his three-point attempts. He was still able to match Frank Mason’s 14 points for the team lead, but there’s no question the team expected more from him when they brought him in. Center Joel Embiid had the best day of the bunch, scoring 12 points and adding 12 boards with five blocks. As a team, the Jayhawks were held to just 29.8 percent shooting against the Aztecs.

Oklahoma won their first conference game of the season in a shootout with Texas, 88-85.

Guard Buddy Hield led the way for the team, hitting on 8 of 14 shots from the field and 4 of 7 shots from three for a team-high 22 points. As a team, the Sooners shot 42.9 percent from the field but hit on a whopping 46.4 percent of their threes and 80.8 percent of their free throws. The Sooners also got a full stat sheet out of guard Isaiah Cousins who scored 13 points and added six boards, three assists, and three steals, hitting on four shots from beyond the arc. The Sooners outrebounded the Longhorns 39-28, bringing in an impressive 17 offensive rebounds.

At the other end of the court, Texas was allowed to shoot 50.8 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from beyond the arc. Guard Javan Felix in particular gave Oklahoma trouble off the bench hitting on 10 of 19 shots for a game-high 28 points.

The Jayhawks haven’t been the dominant team many expected them to be this season with the addition of Wiggins, but there’s far too much talent on the team’s roster for them not to bust out at some point. The team is going against the odds in this one as the home team has covered in four of the last five meetings between these programs, and the team has covered just twice in their last seven trips to Norman, but they’ve taken care of business in their own conference, going 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games against Big 12 opponents.

The Sooners are 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games.

The play: Kansas -4.5
