On the season Syracuse is 18-15 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 15-16 and Indiana is 17-15-1 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 15-16.

In the East Region Indiana is the top seed and Syracuse is the 4th seed.

Syracuse beat Cal by 6 points in their last game even though they went over 12 minutes without a field goal in the 2nd half and if that happens again against a great Indiana team they will not be advancing to the Elite 8.

The Orange shot less than 40% in the Cal win, but they played great D holding Cal to less than 40% shooting from the field. They will have to play solid defense again facing an Indiana team that ranks 3rd in the nation in scoring.

The Hoosiers have a couple of Player of the Year candidates in Cody Zeller and Victor Oladipo, who combined for 31 points in the win over Temple. The Hoosiers did not have a great shooting game in the Temple win, but they held the Owls to only 33.9% shooting. [ad-6571516]

Indiana will be facing a Syracuse team that plays a 2/3 zone and leading assist guy for the Hoosiers Yogi Ferrell stated, “No one plays a 2/3 zone the whole 40 minutes. We’ve never seen that before.”

The Hoosiers will have to play good interior D facing the 2 leading scorers and rebounders for the Orange in the FW duo of C.J. Fair (14.5 ppg 6.9 rpg) and James Southerland (13.7 ppg 5.3 rpg), who combined for 32 points and 15 rebounds in the win over Cal.

In some betting trends for this East Region match up Syracuse is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 non-conference games, 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, and they have an Over record of 5-2 in their last 7 neutral site games.

Indiana is 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record, 16-6-1 ATS in their last 23 non-conference games, and they have an Under record of 5-2 in their last 7 games.

Jason’s Pick: Cuse plays a solid zone D, but Indiana has too much scoring and they will get a big game from Zeller and win and cover advancing the Elite 8.
