Team records:
Vanderbilt: 22-6 SU, 14-12 ATS
Florida: 20-9 SU, 13-11 ATS

The No. 13 Vanderbilt Commodores will travel to Gainesville, Florida to take on the Gators in an SEC clash on Tuesday at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.
The last time these two teams met was back on Jan 9. Vanderbilt opened SEC play by downing Florida 95-87. The Commodores haven’t won a game at Florida in nine years, despite leading the all-time series 62-56.

But Vanderbilt’s SEC title hopes are still very much alive, and the Commodores can clinch a bye in the conference tournament if they can beat the Gators tonight. Vandy have won five of their last six overall and moved within a game of No. 3 Kentucky with an 89-72 win at Arkansas on Saturday. Jeffrey Taylor finished with 18 points to lead five Commodores in double figures as the team posted one of their better shooting performances of the season (53.3 percent) in the win. Defensively, they limited the Razorbacks to 37.8 percent shooting.

Vandy is generating 78.8 ppg while holding opponents to 69.4 ppg.

As for the Gators, they didn’t help their cause falling to Georgia, one of the SEC East’s worst teams, 78-76 on Saturday. Chandler Parsons recorded a career-best 29 points, six assists and six boards, while freshman guard Kenny Boynton, who leads the Gators with 13.8 points per game, added 22 points in the loss. The Gators lost the game at the defensive end, permitting the Bulldogs to shoot 57.4 percent.

Through 29 outings, Florida is averaging 72.1 ppg, and the team is limiting the opposition to 64.7 ppg.

Vandy vs. Florida Odds

Free Commodores vs. Gators CBB Pick

Florida is 13-3 at home, while the Commodores are 7-4 on the road this season. I expect a balanced offensive attack and a better defensive effort for the Gators to be the difference as Florida edges out a narrow margin victory in Gainesville in this one.
