The Texas Tech Red Raiders will hit the highway night trying to string together two consecutive wins for the first time since Jan 2 when they take on  No. 21 Missouri on Tuesday night.

Texas Tech has fallen on rough times and has dropped their last three contests including a heartfelt 70-67 loss to the Texas A&M Aggies at home on Saturday; a sign that perhaps there are new things coming in Lubbock. The Aggies outrebounded the Raiders and that created more scoring opportunities. Brad Reese led all scoring for the Red Raiders with 18 points on 41 percent shooting while leading scorer John Roberson added a game-high 7 assists.

Mike Singletary has struggled as of late and as a result only played four minutes against A&M and didn’t score off the bench. The long-range shooter has been hitting just 12 percent from beyond the arc.

Reese and Robertson have taken over the scoring duties Roberson averaging 13.4 points per game, while Reese is at 11.7 points per game.

Texas Tech is the only team in the Big XII that isn’t logging a winning record this year, and a 3-7 record in conference play is brutally disappointing to say the least.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are setting their sights on a NCAA Tournament bid and are probably realistically just two or three more wins away from getting it done.

Mizzou is No. 7 in the country in scoring at 83.5 points per game for the season, and have tallied an average of 84 points in three straight games including smoking the Sooners, 84-61, in Big 12 play their last time out. The ‘Zou spread the ball around with ease, and their 17 assists gave them an advantage as they capitalized on 18 Sooners’ giveaways. Mike Dixon, Jr. led the charge with 16 points.

Depth is the key for Missouri. There are five players that are averaging double digits in scoring and three more than are right near 7.0 points per game. Marcus Denmon leads the team with 16.2 points per game, knocking down 45.3 percent of his long balls, while shooting 49.5 percent from the field in total.

Matt’s Free Pick: Missouri – Tech might put up a fight in this one, but Tigers are clearly going to find a way to win the game.
