The Wisconsin Badgers head to Assembly Hall in Bloomington, IN. to take on Indiana tonight in a game that is crucial to the Badgers postseason plans and one that finds the Hoosiers playing for pride.

Wisconsin still has an outside shot at winning the Big 10 title as they are two games in back of Purdue in the conference with three games to play. They are currently 10-5 in the Big 10 and 20-7 overall. While they would still need a minor miracle to come away with a title, the one thing in their favor is they spit their season series with the Boilermakers as well as Ohio State and Michigan State. They have been a bit shaky lately, going 2-2 in their last four games with losses to Illinois (56-63) and Minnesota (52-68). In the loss to the Gophers they fell behind by nine points at the half and played uninspired ball down the stretch, hardly looking like a team that was in the thick of a title race. The real problem was their inability to hit from three point range, going just 11 for 30. Their leading scorer, senior G Trevon Hughes had 19 points and Jason Bohannon, another senior G added 18, but it was not enough to keep Minnesota from pulling off the upset.

As one of the most storied basketball programs in the country, Indiana has fallen upon hard times this season. They come into this game with riding an eight game losing streak with their last win coming against Penn State back on January 21st. They have lost their last five games by an average of 20 points and have been held to under 70 points in six of the eight losses. The one bright spot for this team is freshman G Maurice Cheek who is averaging 16.4 points per game. Sophomore G Verdell Jones III is averaging 14.6 points and freshman F Christian Watford is averaging 12.3 points and 5.9 rebounds. While Hoosier fans should be encouraged for next year by all the youthful talent this team has, as far as this year goes they should be glad it is almost over.

While it is doubtful that Wisconsin will be able to catch all the teams that are ahead of them in the conference even if they win out, a strong finish and a good showing in the Big 10 Conference Tournament will go a long way to improving their seed in the NCAA Tournament. That being said they cannot afford to allow Indiana to have any hope of a late season upset. The Badgers should put this one away by half.

I agree. I think this one will be already over by the half. Wisconsin crushed Indiana 83-55 a few weeks ago.
