I believe that makes 16 straight wins including all 6 of their playoff games (5 by double digits). The Spurs are making a mockery of the playoffs and seemed destined to waltz into the next round.
Visiting Los Angeles might put a little kink in their plans but this team is looking like its focused on the big prize.
The key to the Spurs success lately has been efficiency. They shot better than 53% from the field and a very nice 40% from deep as a team. Tony Parker had a nice rebound game leading the team with 22 points and dominating Chris Paul.
Again San Antonio showed off its depth as 10 players saw more than 10 minutes of game action. Not only are they winning but they are resting guys in the process…in the playoffs!! [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Los Angeles
The more you see of this series the more tired the Clippers look. They are back home now but it still is just a day of rest between games for a club searching for energy and answers. The only saving grace is that perhaps nobody in the league could mount much of a fight against San Antonio the way they are playing right now.
Staples might feel like a mausoleum the way both of the L.A. teams are playing right now.
The Clippers got better performances from stars Blake Griffin and Chris Paul in game two but both were still well below their regular season standards.
I am not surprised that Griffin is gassed and struggling under the lights of the playoffs but Paul’s poor play has been surprising. The really scary part is that they shot the ball amazingly last time out and still lost by almost 20 points.
The Spurs got up 16 more shots than L.A. did.
