Saturday Double Play Parlay – Jockeying for Position

NBA Basketball Sports Betting
DOUBLE PLAY FOR SATURDAY

BetUS NBA Basketball Sports Betting Matchup:

Golden State Warriors (28-50 SU, 37-40-1 ATS) at Utah Jazz (47-31 SU, 38-40 ATS)
Energy Solutions Arena, Salt Lake City — 9 PM ET(Records good through Thursday games)

Here are some of the NBA basketball head-to-head sports betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* UTAH has covered six of the last eight meetings
* UTAH has won seven of the last eight meetings SU
* Five of the last eight meetings have gone UNDER the total
* UTAH has won the last nine meetings SU as the home team
* UTAH has covered four of the last five meetings as the home team
* Four of the last five meetings in Salt Lake City have gone OVER the total
* UTAH has had the rebounding edge in each of the last ten meetings
* GS has made more three-pointers in each of the last ten meetings

Usually when a team has to come to Salt Lake City and its high altitude from a game the night before, it is a big disadvantage. Maybe not so much here, as the Jazz had to play on Friday night in a big game at San Antonio, and could find itself a little too spent to run up and down the floor with this Warrior team that is intent on simply out-scoring its opponent. Utah is not shooting as well as it did last season (47.6%), and they have had severe lapses lately on defense, allowing an average of 121 points over its last five games heading into that Friday contest with the Spurs. We’re wondering about Utah’s ability to pull away in this one, considering Carlos Boozer has been far from an explosive offensive player of late (just 26 points in his last three games). Remember, Golden State is the much better team at hitting threes, and Jamal Crawford has caught fire after Don Nelson decided to use him again, averaging 27 points over his last six outings.

Our PREDICTION:  UTAH BY 5 (non-cover)

BetUS NBA Basketball Sports Betting Matchup:

Orlando Magic (58-20 SU, 48-29-1 ATS) at New Jersey Nets (32-46 SU, 40-37-1 ATS)
Izod Center, East Rutherford, NJ — 7:30 PM ET
(Records good through Thursday games)

Here are some of the NBA basketball head-to-head sports betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* ORL has won six of the last seven meetings SU
* ORL has covered five of the last seven meetings
* Seven of the last eight meetings have gone UNDER the total
* ORL has had the shooting edge in five of the last seven meetings
* ORL has made more three-pointers in four of the last six meetings

Both of these teams had games on Friday night, and in terms of “recovery” mode the Magic has something of an edge, as they are 9-2 ATS when presented with the second end of back-to-back games on the road. Orlando has been a 63% proposition as a road favorite as it is, and that continues their outstanding trend as the visitor from last year, which makes them a threat in the playoffs, even if they have to give up home court advantage to the Celtics or Cavaliers. As it is, Orlando is still locked in a battle for that second spot in the East, only a game in back of Boston. New Jersey is now out of things in the East, so Lawrence Frank is committed to giving the younger players more time, although Yi Jianlian and Sean Williams are not among those young players. Brook Lopez (13 ppg, 7.9 rpg) is certainly all-rookie material, but he’s going to get swallowed up here by Dwight Howard, who’s had 56 points and 31 rebounds in two meetings with the Nets this season. Meanwhile, Devin Harris has not scored 20 points in any game since March 13.

Our PREDICTION:  ORLANDO BY 12 (cover)
