Cavaliers vs Bucks

Time: Saturday 8:30 ET
Venue: Bradley Center, Milwaukee
Spread: Cavaliers -4
Over/Under: 196 (-110)

Team records:
Cleveland: 49-14 SU, 31-30-2 ATS
Milwaukee: 32-29 SU, 39-21-1 ATS

Used to be the Bucks would quietly go about their business in the Eastern Conference, win their 30-35 games a season, miss the playoffs and wait for next season to start so they could do it all over again. The only time you heard from them was at the draft lottery and when ownership whined a little about losing money.

No more.

The Bucks have put together a nice post-All Star Game run, and if they can hold serve over the final 21 games they might actually grab the 5 seed in the playoffs (they can also fall out of the playoffs completely, but real bad things would have to happen.)

Milwaukee has won 7 of 8, and the Bucks appear ready for clearly their toughest 7-day stretch of the season. The Cavaliers come to town tonight, followed by the rejuvenated Celtics on Tuesday and then the Jazz on Friday. The Bucks really don’t have a signature victory this season (Oklahoma City on Jan. is as close as they come), but the table is set.

The Bucks have a solid three-guard rotation (Brandon Jennings, Luke Ridnour and Carlos Delfino) that can wear down opposing backcourts, trade deadline acquisition John Salmons has been good for 20 a game since coming over from the Bulls, and center Andrew Bogut is starting to fill out the stat sheet on a regular basis (16 points, 10 bosards and nearly 3 blocks a game). Bogut had four blocks, five dunks and 19 points Friday night in Washington. They have seven players scoring in double figures, and a solid veteran (Jerry Stackhouse) coming off the bench.Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

Milwaukee has built its 32-29 record on the backs of victories over a slew of mediocre teams, and the Bucks are about to find out if they have been mining fool’s gold.

Cleveland is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games

SATURDAY NIGHT BEST NBA BET:

Milwaukee couldn’t be catching the Cavs at a better time. Cleveland had trouble concentrating at home last night against the Pistons and had to go belly button to the wall for the final 17 minutes to avoid a bad loss. LeBron James and the boys have a 3-game lead over the suddenly-shaky Lakers and can afford a defeat here and there, and still finish with the league’s best overall record. Milwaukee +4 looks good in the Bucks’ biggest game in several years. Milwaukee, BTW, is by far the best cover team in the league (40-21).
