The Atlanta Hawks are quietly gaining momentum on NBA odds, while the Indiana Pacers are loudly stumbling their way through them. The teams will meet in Atlanta on Saturday night.

Atlanta (24-14, 18-20 ATS) has quietly put together a very nice run. The Hawks are 7-2 in their past nine games, including a 7-2 record against the spread. Atlanta has won its past three games both straight up and against the spread after crushing the Jazz 110-87 in Utah on Wednesday night.

The offense has been excellent during the winning streak, scoring 107, 108 and 110 points. Joe Johnson has practically been unstoppable; he’s averaging 18.4 points per game on the year but, in his last three outings, he’s averaging 28.6 per contest. Johnson was a menace from the three-point line against Utah, hitting five of his seven attempts.

The Hawks are also getting much-improved play from Jamal Crawford, who struggled early in the season. That feels like a distant memory now, as Crawford has scored at least 24 points in four straight games, averaging 26.7 per game over that span.

While the offense is rolling, the defense shouldn’t be overlooked. Atlanta has allowed more than 100 points just once during its past nine 11 games, a 103-94 loss at Oklahoma City.

Indiana (14-18, 14-16-2 ATS) had just three wins in its past 11 games heading into Friday’s battle with the Spurs. The Pacers were dreadful against the spread in that span, going 2-8-1 ATS. Both wins have come in their past two games, though, including a 98-92 loss in New York on Sunday. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

If there’s been a bright spot lately, it is Darren Collison. The guard has been very impressive over his last two games, averaging 20 points on 54 percent shooting. He also averaged 6.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds in those contests.

Keeping Collison rolling might be a way to finally wake up the offense. Indiana has struggled to score points, and the Pacers haven’t topped the century mark in their last seven games—and just once in their last 11. It’s not wonder they’ve been awful against the spread during the same stretch. Not surprisingly, their games have gone under the total in nine of their past 11, including seven straight.

With Johnson, Crawford and company rolling, it’s just impossible to believe the Pacers can keep up with Atlanta right now; they simply don’t have the offense to hang around for more than a few quarters. Take the Hawks.

Trends:

Indiana is 0-5 SU in its last 5 games when playing on the road against Atlanta
Indiana is 1-6 ATS in its last 7 games when playing on the road against Atlanta
Atlanta is 6-13 ATS in its last 19 games at home
The total has gone OVER in 4 of Atlanta’s last 5 games
