One of the best teams in the NBA will take on one of the worst when the Boston Celtics pay a visit to the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night.

Boston (36-11, 23-22-2 ATS) improved to 8-2 in its last 10 games after Sunday’s 109-96 road victory of the L.A. Lakers. Boston easily covered as a three-point underdog, giving the club a 4-2 record against the spread in its past six games.

Paul Pierce was a beast against Los Angeles. The veteran swingman struggled in a recent loss to Phoenix, but he was firing on all cylinders against the Lakers. Pierce finished with a team-high 32 points after making 11 of his 18 field goal attempts. He also took a few possessions to defend Kobe Bryant (though that didn’t exactly work out; Bryant finished with 41 points).

The rest of the stars also pulled their weight. Kevin Garnett was cut in the head by Pau Gasol, an injury that required five stitches, but it didn’t seem to slow him down any. Garnett racked up 18 points and 13 rebounds. Rajon Rondo finished with a double-double (10 points, 16 assists), with 15 of his 16 assists coming in the second half. Ray Allen finished with 21 points.

When all four of Boston’s best players are rolling, they’re nearly impossible to stop. With the bench also getting the job done, they are impossible to stop. Glen Davis and Nate Robinson both scored in double figures off the bench. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

Sacramento (12-33, 18-26-1 ATS) has actually been pretty respectable over the last week or so. The Kings have won three of their past four games, going 3-1 against the spread. Even more impressively, the wins came against some very tough competition (at Blazers, at Lakers, Hornets).

The Kings are getting some phenomenal play at center with the rookie/veteran combo of DeMarcus Cousins and Samuel Delmbert. Cousins torched New Orleans for 25 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists. Dalembert came off the bench to score 16 points while adding six rebounds, two blocked shots and a pair of steals.

Both Cousins and Dalembert were equally great against the Lakers (Cousins racked up 27 points and 10 rebounds; Dalembert had 18 points and five rebounds). If they can keep this up, Sacramento suddenly becomes a very tough out for opponents.

Dalembert hasn’t been the only helpful hand off the bench; Luther Head was crucial against the Hornets. After playing just two minutes in his past nine games—and sitting out the past three—Head was forced into the game with Tyreke Evans in foul trouble. Head responded. In just 11 minutes of play he put up five points on 2-3 shooting, a three-pointer, two assists, a steal and no turnovers.

Sacramento is playing well, even against the big boys. But the Celtics should be able to find a way to disrupt Cousins and Dalembert. A wily vet like Garnett isn’t going to let a rookie have his way with him. Take the Celtics.

Trends:
Under is 20-8-1 in BOS last 29 vs. NBA Pacific.
SAC are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
SAC are 16-35-2 ATS in their last 53 home games.
Favorite is 10-4 ATS in the last 14 meetings.
