The Thunder rolled in Sacramento on Friday night as Kevin Durant, the NBA’s leading scorer, put up 24 points, as Oklahoma routed the Sacramento Kings 102-87 in en route to its fifth straight win.

Four other Oklahoma City players scored in double digits including Serge Ibaka who added 12 points and 10 rebounds, Russell Westbrook (21 points), Nick Collison (12 points and eight rebounds), and Jeff Green (11 points and nine rebounds).

The Thunder used a trio of fourth-quarter spurts and two separate runs of eight straight points to put the game away.

Meanwhile, the Suns dropped their fourth in five games, 106-91 to Dallas on Friday without the heroics of star point guard Steve Nash who left the game in the first quarter after a collision with the Mavericks’ Tyson Chandler.

Nash was down for several minutes before walking slowly to the bench, suffering from what appeared to be an injury to his neck. His condition is unknown.

Hakim Warrick scored a double double in the loss, leading the Suns with 15 points and 14 rebounds as Phoenix shot a disappointing 39.3 percent from the field while hitting just five of 21 from downtown.

That’s a long way from the 15 3-pointers and 50.6 percent shooting from the field the Suns put up in their 128-122 victory over lowly Minnesota on Wednesday. Seven players scored in double figures and Nash had a season-high 19 assists in the contest. The likelihood of losing the veteran playmaker for Sunday’s clash could be just what Oklahoma wanted for Christmas.

In contrast, shots seem to be dropping with ease for the Thunder recently. That’s not a good sign for the Suns also need to improve a defense yielding a league-worst 110.0 points per game.

Oklahoma ranked in the bottom half of the NBA in field goal shooting at 45.4 percent, but has shot 50 percent or better in their last four games, winning them all.

They shot a season-high 57.7 percent in a 117-105 win over Houston on Wednesday. Durant went 12 of 18 from the field, finishing with 32 points while Green scored 21.

Increased ball movement plays a part in the improved shooting. The Thunder is averaging 23.8 assists over the winning streak, 4.5 above their season average. They had 25 assists for a second straight game Wednesday with five players recording at least four and 15 against Sacramento.

NBA Gambling Trends:

Phoenix is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games
The total has gone UNDER in 16 of Phoenix’s last 21 games when playing on the road against Oklahoma City
The total has gone OVER in 8 of Oklahoma City’s last 11 games at home
Oklahoma City is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games

Matt’s Free Prediction: The odds haven’t been posted at the time of this writing, but I would expect the Thunder to take this one by as many as 9-points, without our without Nash on the floor for Phoenix.
